Entering Suez Canal (1st USN ship after reopen) As we were about to enter the canal we had not received the final permission to enter. In this shot we were in the process of turning about and were backing down hard. We barely missed the wall.

'Quick before the Captian finds out'... Who recalls this one? I don't recall the ENS or JG's name who was responsible, but as I remember there was just a little too much speed entering the landing.
Had to throw this one in for FTG2 Ron Price, he could fix anything (top - far right).
It is a POD from 27 Nov 1980. I seem to recall we had to go to sea for the USS Sellers, over Thanksgiving. See the poem at the bottom, looks like "someone" filled in the blanks.
